Ingredients:
6 Granny Smith apples
6 wooden sticks
420 g package individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
2 tbsp water
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 tbsp coarse sea salt 1
80 g semisweet chocolate chips
Directions:
- Line a cookie sheet with greased foil.
- In the core of each apple, insert a wooden stick at the stem end.
- Arrange the apples onto the prepared cookie sheet.
- In a pan, mix together the water and caramel on low heat.
- Cook, stirring occasionally until the caramel is melted completely.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and remove from the heat.
- Dip the apples in the caramel mixture evenly and arrange onto the cookie sheet.
- Sprinkle with the salt and refrigerate to chill.
- In a microwave safe bowl, add the chocolate chips and microwave on high until melted completely, stirring every 30 seconds.
- Pour the melted chocolate over the apples and refrigerate until everything is set.
